Live Forum: 3rd Thursday | Facilitating Connection Online

Online, International

Each online event is focused on a specific aspect of Creative Community facilitation, and led by one of Partners for Youth Empowerment’s lead facilitators. The forums are FREE and lots of FUN. Anyone who works with groups of youth or adults, or wants to increase their impact and creativity, will benefit.

Live Forums are an important part of our online network connecting thousands of facilitators, youth workers, workshop leaders, and educators around the world. Held on the third Thursday of every month, they provide a convenient but powerful way to gather and share knowledge and experience in a way that bridges distance.

Tips to Get You Started in the Live Forum

On Zoom, you choose your level of participation. You can share your video, audio, and/or text during the session. Or, if you prefer to just listen during the conference, that is fine as well. It is your choice.

To maintain participant privacy and to create a safe space for this session, it will NOT be recorded; however, for those that choose to, we may attempt to record a short, shared activity at the end to demonstrate the power of the online conferencing platform for supporting connection and building community.

  • VIDEO: When you enter the room, your video will be on; you can turn it off at any time.
  • AUDIO: All participants will be ‘MUTED’ until given permission by the facilitator. You can help by making sure Zoom is on “MUTE” (there is a button on the bottom left of the screen). And if you have excessive noise in your environment, please ‘MUTE’ unless you are talking.
  • CHAT: You can submit questions and comments to the group or directly to the facilitator through the chat feature. Click “CHAT” and a chat box will appear on the left. Here you can view and make comments and ask questions.
  • Click “PARTICIPANTS” for interactivity
  • RAISE HAND” to get the attention of the facilitator
  • YES” and “NO” to answer facilitator questions
